Fruit of my labor

M, J, and I were playing in M's room and M wanted it to be really bright. I suggested opening the curtains to let in a lot of natural light. He did and then he ran over to his bookshelf and said we needed to read the story we read a long time ago. He flipped through his Jesus Storybook Bible until he found what he was looking for. It was the story where God created light. We then read the story, well, until J started crawling up me to get to the book and then they started rolling around and over each other on the bed. So we didn't finish the story. But it was a great little chance to remind the boys that God created everything.

Manna:

  • Have a Bible in every room

  • Keep putting God in the center of your life even if you don't see the fruit yet

This is the fruit of my labor. That M has started to independently remember and connect the things we've read and talked about. I am overjoyed!

Also, happy Independence Day! Whether or not you're going to see fireworks lighting up the sky I pray that Jesus' Light reaches and enlightens all of our souls. Our story hasn't fully played out but we know the ending. God outshines everything you can see in the sky and has freed us from our sins! That is something everyone in every nation can celebrate!

Lord,

May M continue to grow into a boy after Your own heart.

May we be transformed by Your Light and share that Light with our children. Amen.

P.S. I asked M what he liked about America and he said, "I like the people who live here." I want that to become more and more my answer too!
