The Daily Three: Looking Ahead at 76

I keep thinking about who I'll be when I'm 76. Maybe because my parents are currently 76 and I get to see a lot of what could possibly be in my future. Maybe because, possibly, more life has passed than I have left. Maybe because it's just a natural thing to do. Time exists and it moves, after all.

On vacation a little while ago, my sister-in-law mentioned three things her mom does every day that I couldn't help circling back to.

They are:

Do something good for your body.

My sister-in-law sounds great at gently reminding her mom, who is also in her 70s, that the body failing in some ways and requiring more doctor visits is normal.

Do something kind or encouraging for someone else.

Even if it's just buying coffee for someone or leaving something for the mailman.

Do something you enjoy.

Life is worth living, after all!

My hope and prayer for me as a 76-year-old is that a stranger would be able to easily spot that I love God and others well. I think loosely following my sister-in-law's mom's structure for the day would be a beautiful, simple way to take good care of the life God gave me while following His commands.
